Farsley Celtic bowed out of the FA Cup after a dramatic late defeat to Kettering Town at Nethermoor Park.

Kettering took an early lead in the 2nd minute when Wes York’s cross from the right sailed into the net. Farsley grew into the game, with Darren Stephenson’s soft shot easily saved. Kettering nearly doubled their lead just before halftime, but Nile Ranger missed a golden chance, leaving it 1-0 at the break.

Darren Stephenson, proudly sponsored by Voyager Transport Training, equalized in the 56th minute as he calmly slotted the ball past the keeper.

Later, Danny Greenfield was denied a scoring opportunity after being fouled, and Conor Branson received a straight red in the 82nd minute. Despite Andi Thanoj’s missed chance for Kettering, they sealed the win in the 93rd minute when Noel Williams scored after Farsley failed to clear.

It was a tough defeat for Farsley, who had opportunities to take the lead but couldn’t capitalize. Farsley Celtic can now focus their efforts on the Vanarama National League North.
